Hello team,
I’m back and breaking the Substack silence with the following announcements / upcoming projects:
I wrote about a significant lunar cycle in the 2024 Many Moons Lunar Planner. It’s a life-enhancing guide that you could avail for yourself and your loved ones this holiday season. This planner can also be useful for grassroots organizers who have time-bound campaign objectives! It’s not a bad idea to organize or mobilize around the most auspicious transits and lunar cycles eh? 👀
In the piece, I politicized the concept of interdependence, an idea often used in wellness or spiritual spaces. I aimed to demystify— or perhaps even de-romanticize the ways we engage with our interconnectedness. I reviewed the final draft recently, and felt a surge of excitement for you to read it in 2024. And as always, the Moon Studio has been sociopolitically grounded and aware as they offer alchemy to their communities. So grateful to be co-making this planner.

advaya has a course coming up called Contemporary Spirituality: Meaning and Mysticism in the Modern Age. I’ll be alongside wise teachers who are the leading minds in these types of discourse and practice.
I’ll be teaching during the second week of the course, which pays attention to “The Church of Consumerism and Colonialism.” I’ll share the teaching space with the incomparable Vanessa Andreotti, author of Hospicing Modernity and one of the founding members of the Gesturing Decolonial Futures Collective. You can get an early bird discount by applying the code SPIRIT-25 for 25% off single purchase sales. Here’s a glimpse of what I’ll be teaching then:
TOMORROW will be the Global Strike for Palestine (12/11/2023). Gather with your local community on this international event, and don’t forget that strikes are not vacation breaks.
Strikes are an energizing tactic that exists to interrupt the balance of power in the workplace and the means/sites of production.
It is the collective refusal to work, withholding labor enough to cause economic and political disruption until strikers’ demands are met.
Especially in the case of one-day general strikes, strikes ought to be accompanied by more diversified actions towards pressuring specific targets (the key or political players and their corporations, customers, and other associations) that have the power to meet your demands.
You may utilize blockades, rallies, and other tactics alongside strikes. Just be sure to define your targets, be clear with your demands (e.g., xyz corporation’s public call for permanent ceasefire, key player’s withdrawal to support xzy political who supports I-rael occupation, etc.), and go forth in community.
Agitate strategically and nonstop.
NYC: here’s a schedule for tomorrow’s actions.
with care,
g
